Takayo Noda: Children’s Creative Art Challenge

A children’s creative art challenge in partnership with New York artist, Takayo Noda, and the Art Club at P.S.95Q – Eastwood School, in Jamaica, Queens, NYC. Denise Bibro Fine Art invited Eastwood School’s Art Club students to submit creative works reflecting their thoughts and feelings during the past year.

The Children’s Creative Art Challenge began in June 2021 by inviting students from the Art Club at P.S.95Q – Eastwood School, in Jamaica, Queens, NYC, to participate in a virtual meeting with noted fine artist, writer and illustrator, Takayo Noda, represented by Denise Bibro Fine Art, in Chelsea, New York.  During this session, the Principal, Ms. Hill, and the other teachers challenged Eastwood School’s Art Club students to submit creative works reflecting their thoughts and feelings during these times. All entries are featured above.

Denise Bibro, Director of Denise Bibro Fine Art, has represented a broad range of artists from the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom for more than three decades. Her first gallery was in SoHo, later moving to Chelsea, NYC.

Takayo Noda, born in Japan, has been in the United States for more than two decades. She lives and works in New York City. Noda’s first children’s picture book, Dear World, a collection of poems and collage illustrations was published by Penguin in 2003. The book received starred reviews in Kirkus Reviews and The School Library Journal. Parenting Magazine included it as one of the Top Ten Books of the Year in 2004. Her second children’s picture book, Song of the Flowers, also a collection of poems and collage illustrations, was published by Penguin in 2006. It was reviewed by Kirkus Reviews, The School Library Journal, Booklist, and COOKIE Magazine.
